What the current official materials say

1) Homepage

  • The homepage currently leads with The first Bitcoin inheritance solution designed to outlive the company that created it and also calls the product trust-minimized and zero-KYC.
  • That framing is analytically useful because it directly names the company boundary while also insisting the inheritance path should survive company failure.
  • The homepage continues to bundle multisig security, inheritance planning, privacy, hardware-signing support, assisted recovery, and advisor-facing collaborative custody into one operating shell.

2) Platform page

  • The platform page says Nunchuk was created to make multisig easier and to create an easy way for Bitcoiners to pass on their wealth.
  • It explicitly markets cloud backup, assisted recovery, in-app chat support, personal-node pairing, and configurable platform-key spending limits and co-signing delays.
  • Those claims matter because they show Nunchuk is not only shipping wallet software. It is packaging policy and recovery workflow around the wallet.

3) Inheritance page

  • The inheritance page says Nunchuk holds only one key and cannot move customer bitcoin on its own.
  • It also says that after the timelock expires the wallet’s rules change on-chain, the platform key is removed, and the signing requirement drops so the beneficiary can claim the funds.
  • The same page emphasizes guided claims, beneficiary notifications, customizable messages, privacy-preserving inheritance based on cryptographic secrets rather than proof of identity, and a sovereign backup path via the BSMS wallet configuration.
  • This is the strongest current signal that the useful analytical split is between the inheritance mechanism and the company-run continuity workflow that surrounds it.

4) Byzantine advisor program

  • The Byzantine page says clients retain full control of their bitcoin while an advisor holds a backup key.
  • It also says access is offered to a select number of advisors and asks whether applicants run a registered business and already serve clients.
  • That is a clear admission and operator boundary, not just a generic multisig feature page.

5) Broader research posture

  • Nunchuk continues to look more like a company-shaped collaborative-custody and inheritance operator than a neutral protocol primitive.
  • The useful question is not how does multisig inheritance work in the abstract? but which named operator packages the platform key, recovery lane, advisor program, notifications, support, and app distribution into the day-2 reality users inherit?
  • Keep the contrast sharp with collaborative-custody peers like Casa and Unchained, and with more mechanism-centered notes like Revault.
